Army Public School Recruitment 2025 Out: Apply Online for PRT, TGT & PGT Posts

The Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) conducts an Online Screening Test (OST) for the recruitment of teachers (PRT, TGT, PGT) in Army Public Schools (APS) across India. The application process for the 2025 recruitment is currently open.

Vacancies: The exact number of vacancies for specific schools is not centrally released by AWES. Instead, individual Army Public Schools will announce their specific vacancies through local advertisements, school websites, and notice boards after the OST results are declared.

Eligibility Criteria (as of April 01, 2025):

  • Age Limit:

    • Fresh Candidates (no teaching experience): Below 40 years.
    • Experienced Candidates (minimum 5 years of teaching experience in the last 10 years): Below 57 years.
    • For NCR Schools: TGT/PRT below 29 years, PGT below 36 years.
    • Age relaxations are applicable as per rules.
  • Educational Qualifications:

    • PGT (Post Graduate Teacher): Post-Graduation in the relevant subject with at least 50% aggregate marks, and a B.Ed. degree with at least 50% marks.
    • TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher): Graduation in the relevant subject with at least 50% aggregate marks, and a B.Ed. degree with at least 50% marks.
      • Note: A Post-Graduate with less than 50% aggregate marks in Graduation can also apply for TGT/PRT if they have 50% or more aggregate marks in Post-Graduation.
    • PRT (Primary Teacher): Graduation with at least 50% aggregate marks, and a B.El.Ed/Two-year D.El.Ed from an NCTE recognized institution.
      • Teachers already in service with Army Public Schools/APPS prior to August 11, 2023, with a B.Ed. degree can also apply/continue, subject to completion of a Bridge Course as and when launched by NCTE.
    • CTET/TET: While not mandatory for appearing in the Online Screening Test, a valid CTET/State TET qualification (conducted by CBSE/State Govt) is mandatory at the time of appointment for TGTs/PRTs.
    • Other Requirements: Proficiency in teaching in English and Hindi medium (desirable), and knowledge of Computer Applications (desirable).

Selection Process: The AWES recruitment process involves three main stages:

  1. Online Screening Test (OST):

    • A Computer-Based Test (CBT) with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
    • Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
    • Total Questions: 200 MCQs
    • Total Marks: 200 marks (1 mark for each correct answer)
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Score Card: Candidates who pass the OST will receive a Score Card which is valid for life.
    • Exam Pattern:
      • Section A (Common for all posts - PGT/TGT/PRT):
        • Basic GK & Current Affairs (10 Questions - National, International, Global)
        • Pedagogy, Curriculum & Education Policy Matters (20 Questions - Pedagogy, Child Psychology/Inclusive Education, RTE, NEP 2020 & NCF 2005/latest NCF)
      • Section C (Subject-Specific - 170 Questions): Focuses on academic proficiency in the relevant subject based on NCERT books. The difficulty level varies based on the post (PRT, TGT, PGT).
  2. Interview:

    • Conducted by the respective school management after the OST results are declared. Candidates need to apply to the specific schools where they wish to work in response to their vacancy announcements.
  3. Evaluation of Teaching Skills & Computer Proficiency:

    • For shortlisted candidates, this stage involves demonstrating teaching skills (which may include a written test for language teachers with essay writing and comprehension) and a computer proficiency test.

  3. Click on the "Registration/Application" link.
  4. Register as a new applicant by providing your Name, Email, Phone, and setting a password. You will receive an OTP for verification.
  5. Log in to the candidate portal using your registration number and password.
  6. Fill out the online application form with accurate personal, educational, and professional details. Select the desired post (PGT/TGT/PRT).
  7. Upload scanned copies of required documents: recent passport-size photograph, signature, proof of date of birth, and academic certificates.
  8. Review all entered details carefully before final submission.
  9. Pay the application fee of Rs. 385/- online.
  10. Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for your records.
