Eligibility Criteria (as on May 1, 2025):
- Nationality:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India,
or - A person of Indian origin who
has migrated from certain East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
- Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwBD: 10 years, Ex-Servicemen: as per rules).
- Educational Qualification:
- Generalist Officers: Graduate/Post Graduate in any stream from a recognized University with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).

- Total emoluments in Metropolitan Centres are approximately Rs. 90,000/- per month.
